Mark your calendars for YouthWorks' upcoming annual Western Round Up to Raise Up, Saturday, October 4, 3:00 PM carnival, 4:30 PM Dinner to encourage the lives of North Tulsa children.
Each year, we have an awesome barbecue dinner, family carnival activities (Jupiter jump, mechanical bull, horse rides, hay rides, petting zoo, and fun games), singers, presentations by the kids, and family fun auction items. Plan on attending and let us know if you would like to sponsor a table and/or provide silent auction or live auction items!
We all know the verse, "Raise up a child in the way he should go and when he gets old he will not depart from it." YouthWorks is raising up 200 North Tulsa kids each year to overcome these stats, and you can tangibly help one or more children to overcome poverty and scholastic challenges to live out their life dreams:
25% go to bed hungry
YouthWorks feeds students 2 extra meals daily.
75% live in a food desert area, and 78% of families do not have a vehicle to get to the grocery store.
YouthWorks kids grow, make food, and feed neighbors in poverty.
30% struggle with being overweight/obese.
YouthWorks provides kids with healthy food, exercise, and nutrition education.
88% of 3rd graders can’t read.
YouthWorks connects kids with PenPal Sponsors and Reading Buddies like you to help them read.
58% drop out of school starting in 4th grade.
YouthWorks kids get daily encouragement by you to stay in school.
99% do not go to college or trade school.
YouthWorks kids get matched with career dream role models like you, plus career planning, career tours, and scholarships to make sure they can go get equipped to live out their life dreams!
Together, You and We are Raising Up Reading and Feeding Champions!
